These guides were created to assist teachers create meaningful hands-on science lessons which are matched to the Access Points for grades 6-12. Each guide builds from the “Big Ideas” or standards which are common across all standards including common core: The Nature of Science, Physical Science, Earth and Space Science, and Life Science. Included in each guide are suggestions for word walls. building background knowledge (Safari Montage videos, Boardmaker files, Classroom Suite activities, Talking PowerPoints, Kidspiration Websites and Book Lists), activities for inside and outdoors. All activities should be linked with Math (prediction charts) writing within Classroom Suite, reading, and especially communication including low and high tech AAC devices.
